Plans for a Documentation feature?

Dan Tappin
Any plans to add a Documentation section to the template?
Chris Oliver
We already ship with docs in the template itself at /jumpstart/docs

Are you talking about something different?

Chris Oliver Related to this, can I ask what you used for the Documentation on Jumpstart Rails? I think it'd be a good feature for my app I'm building with JumpstartPro to have a documentation section embedded with a similar/identical look and feel.

Any feedback would be helpful.. and I think related to this question.
Chris Oliver
Our documentation is just static html.erb files and routes. Nothing fancy.

You could build your own Documentation & Category models and allow editing in the admin area if you wanted to make something dynamic.

I've actually been working on a customer support product that will have a knowledgebase and tickets. Was going to rewrite it in Jumpstart Pro recently, so maybe I'll finish up that app and record a screencast on building it or something. The big feature I'd like to experiment with on it is video so you can record screencasts or video to share with customers, going the extra mile on support.

Any interest in seeing how that's built?

Sounds cool.

Chris Oliver  did your support site integration go anywhere?  I ended up using Jekyll and a sub request auth for NGINX and Devise.  Works pretty good - keeps the support page protected from non-members etc.
Chris Oliver , also wondering if there is an update on knowledgebase / tickets solution. Currently looking if Jumpstart Pro is something I need to get, or I should look for a different starter.
