I would love to track JSP closely as to spot and reduce merge issues early on. Can I consider the master branch on Github (or should it be Gitlab?) stable and ready to be merged into my code base?

Excellent to hear! Thanks for clearing that up. I'm gonna nuke the current checkout I have and start from the basics again. The works I've done is minimal so far.
