acts_as_taggable and administrate-field-acts_as_taggable without no selectize

I wanted to use acts_as_taggable and its administrate plugin which would be fine except it uses selectize.js and Jumpstart Pro uses SlimSelect.  I was going to try and change it but realized while SlimSelect is great, it doesn't support the same options as Selectize, eg it has no tagging support specifically creating new tags in the input.

Any idea what I should do here to get ActsAsTaggable to work in administrate?
