Any pointers on deploying Jumpstart rails project to Ubuntu 16.04 on EC2/RDS with Capistrano?

I tried deploying the project in multiple ways, but it keeps falling apart at the last step where Rails is not finding environment variables.

Not sure what step I'm missing in the deployment process, currently following everything between both these guides 18.04 and 16.04.

Any advice would appreciated.

update: currently I solved this by adding the pgsql information to the database.yml manually and Rails still not able to access env variables.

Should the rails secrets be setup locally or after deploying to Ubunut server?
