CSS not loading after merge with latest JSP - TW2.0

I recently merged the latest update to upgrade to tailwind 2.0 and now the CSS doesn't load, it's just black and white HTML

I've deleted node_modules and lock files and readded, I've made sure the babel.config.js, package.json, postcss.config.js are all setup exactly as the repo and I'm at a loss to where I should be looking to fix this without any warning errors...any help would be much appreciated. 

Anywhere else i should be looking team? Are there breaking changes in Tailwind 2.0 that may be stopping it from loading? What would be the best steps to identify what's causing this?  Chris Oliver

And magically, it's working again. I changed the "import stylesheets/application" to "import stylesheets/application.scss" then back again to the original...don't ask me why it worked, but it worked

I think the Tailwind site has a series of steps to take to upgrade to TW 2.0?  That can't hurt
