PayPal support?
Not currently. Braintree is owned by PayPal and provides the closest API to Stripe, so it's much easier to keep those two APIs fairly consistent.
It may be worth adding PayPal support to the Pay gem that goes directly through PayPal's APIs. I've looked into it in the past and PayPal's documentation is just awful.
More importantly, I have to work on getting Stripe's new SCA functionality rebuilt in Pay/Jumpstart before I can do anything else payments wise.
