Unlimited development sites

Dan Weaver
From TOS: "One license grants the right to use the Software on one domain and unlimited development sites. "

Does this mean if I buy one license I can use it to spin up as many local dev ideas as I like? Then I would buy another license if I put one of those ideas into production on a live domain?
Chris Oliver
Yep, that's correct. You might need a couple sites for development depending on what you're building, so this makes that flexible for you.
Dan Tappin
This would include multiple domain sites too right i.e. jumpstartrails.com / .net / .etc?
Dan Weaver
Dan Tappin I imagine 'one domain' would only cover one TLD.

Having your app live on multiple TLDs (like yourapp.com & yourapp.net) would require two licenses unless, I guess, one of the domains was your dev site.

It's unclear whether 'unlimited development sites' covers only `localhost`-type dev sites or live-on-the-internet dev sites. I run my dev sites through `ngrok` which actually makes them live-on-the-internet dev sites.
Dan Tappin
To clarify what I mean is when you have a single server running and responding to yourapp.com & yourapp.net vs for example having yourapp.net redirect to  yourapp.com.

One question is spinning on my head. How do you know, anyone is using the same license key for multiple sites?
Brandon B.
Iftekher that is where the non-visible DONTREADME.rb file comes into play.

Dan Weaver
I expect it's based mostly on trust.
Chris Oliver
It is, like many things. If someone is caught abusing the licenses, then we will take appropriate (i.e. legal) action.

We've created this to help people, but we can't do that if people are stealing our work that we've invested so much time and energy into. A huge thank you to everyone who has supported us so far! 🙏
